Cerise rubis surprise

Tomates surprises
  • 25 Savéol Ruby cherry tomatoes
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • Sesame
  • Mustard
  • Poppy seeds or coarsely chopped pistachios
  • 25 toothpicks
  • Greaseproof paper
  1. Rinse, remove the stalk and wipe the Ruby cherry tomatoes.
  2. Insert a stick into each tomato, if possible where the stalk was.
  3. Moisten the sugar with the vinegar and cook over a high heat in a small saucepan that is deep enough to cover the tomatoes.
  4. Cook the caramel for about 5 minutes.
  5. As soon as it starts to colour, immerse the tomatoes in it, one after the other so that they are covered.
  6. Dry them on a piece of greaseproof paper, preferably sprinkled with sesame, mustard, or poppy seeds or coarsely chopped pistachios.
